What You Can Do to Help

SCHOOL COUNTS!” is a permanently endowed scholarship fund designated to provide any Conway County high school graduate who met the “SCHOOL COUNTS!” criteria a $250 book scholarship and a $250 tuition waiver from the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton to attend.   A permanent endowment fund of at least $1,000,000 will be required to fund the number of scholarships anticipated in the near future.

You should be aware of the following:

  • Donations to the scholarship endowment fund will be made to the Conway County Community Foundation/UACCM SCHOOL COUNTS! SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND.  The CCCF has the necessary IRS 501(C)3 designation for donations to qualify as income tax deductions as may be allowed by law.
  • CCCF will forward all such donations to the scholarship endowment fund to the Arkansas Community Foundation (“ARCF”) for deposit into the UACCM SCHOOL COUNTS! SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND account.  ARCF, acting as the trustee of these funds, is responsible for the appropriate investment of the fund and the authorized distribution of the fund’s earnings to UACCM for scholarships to eligible students.
Thank you of your consideration of supporting "School Counts!".  This is the largest single fund-raising effort in Conway County’s history and deserves a detailed explanation.  You should be aware that Conway County/UACCM will be only the THIRD community/secondary school/community college team in the U.S. to make this type of commitment to education.  It will take a very generous response from ALL residents, businesses, and organizations to reach a minimum of $1,000,000 in three to five years.  And, yet, the history of extremely generous responses in Conway County says that it can be done!
